Review: Snoe Beauty Vitamin C-Enriched Calamansi Beauty Bar

Here is the review of the Snoe White beauty bar I said in my Hair Heroes Intense Argan Oil review

This Calamansi beauty bar is the very first soap I tried from Snoe Beauty. The reason I choose this one is because I know that Calamansi is a natural whitening agent and can help prevent pimples

Now here is what Snoe Beauty says about this particular beauty bar

"Organic, using only real calamansi
  • Citrus Micracarpa or commonly known as calamansi, is a rich source of vitamin C and Alpha Hydroxy Acids
  • Whitens dark spots caused by acne, freckles and melasma
  • Can naturally bleach the dark regions of the body especially the under-arms and inner thigh
  • Acts as an organic deodorant
  • A natural astringent that safely eliminates pimples withough being harsh to the skin
Active Ingredients: Calamansi Extract, Papain Enzyme, AHA, Vitamin C and E, Cucumber Extract, Goats Milk, High Grade Coconut Oil"

I say
Pros:
  • Doesn't melt fast like other beauty bars
  • Really lightens dark spots, underarms and bikini area
  • Has AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) which can help exfoliate your skin
  • Can be used for both face and body (although I just use this for my body)
  • Gives you a clean feel even if it doesn't lather
Cons:
  • People who are used to soaps that lather a lot won't really like this

Price: 139php

Already have but in different variants

This product surprised me because I didn't expect it to work that well. I noticed that my underarms were lighter and the dark spots on my wrists from pole dancing were gone. I didn't get any body acne during the time I was using this and this made my skin look brighter and even. People said I got whiter (I was still a little tan from diving when I started using this) so I was surprised because it takes a months for me to get back to my original color and that was only about a month or so of using it.

I love the fact that this didn't melt fast like other beauty bars would and despite this being a calamansi soap it didn't dry out my skin. I can't wait to try out their other variants

So if you are planning on trying any of the Snoe Beauty products then I suggest you buy some products now because they are having an amazing sale. You can find more details here http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.396421993758084.94988.136835276383425&type=3

I will definitely be repurchasing this once I am done with my bottle

I absolutely adore this product because it really does do what it says. It makes my hair soft and bouncy even if I just let it air dry and I just love the way it makes my hair smell.

Now as for the cleaning conditioner claim, I must say that it really works. I have an oily scalp and fine hair which only allows me one day of not using shampoo before I have to clean my hair properly again or else my hair will look limp and uncared for. Then one day I decided to test out the cleansing claim and just used this for my in between day, I was pleasantly surprised when my hair dried that it didn't feel as oily as it should be if I had just used a regular condition. Of course it didn't feel as clean as when I shampoo my hair but I love the fact that I can now go two days without shampooing my hair (for those who don't know constant shampoo usage can actually dry your hair). I also want to mention that this conditioner helps my blonde hair from looking brassy which brings me to my other story.

About two months ago I got my hair colored to platinum blonde and a few days ago I had my roots retouched. Now for those who don't know treatments like rebonding, perming and coloring can damage your hair; the most damaging treatment of all would be bleaching because you are using harsh chemicals to remove the natural color of your hair (I am originally brunette btw). Now when I got my roots retouched the hair that are near the hair that was already bleached got even more damaged than before and I had a treatment before I left the salon that day but my hair still felt a little rough and dry. A couple of days after the treatment I finally shampoo'd and used the Hair Heroes Intense Argan Oil; and I was surprised that my hair actually felt a lot softer than before, it didn't feel as brittle as after the second bleaching.

As you can see there are a lot of reason why you should try out this product and if you think it's a bit pricey for a conditioner I tell you it is worth the price and more for what it can do for your hair. I have had this product for about three months now and I am only have way through the bottle. You just need two full pumps for short hair but I take an extra pump since my hair needs all the help it can get now.

For the deep conditioning part I cant really comment cause I dont use it for that. I generally leave this in my hair for about 2-3 minutes in the shower and that alone does wonders so I can only imagine how your hair would feel if you leave this on as a deep conditioning treatment.

Date look

I did this so called "date look" for a contest by Jheng that can be found here http://www.iambrigitte.com/2012/06/contest-wanna-win-your-own-beauty-pro.html

As I said in my Purple extension look, I decided to join both contests for the palettes. This look is for the Sweet and Smokey palette

The inspiration for this look came from a Laura Mercier advertisement for their Lingerie collection. I recreated the look from a flier I got from them before and now this is more of a variation of that look instead of a recreation

You could wear this look when you are going on a date or a guest at a wedding

Going blonde at Creations

A couple of months back I thought about going blonde but didn't really go for it since I wasn't sure if it would fit me. Then at the beginning of June I decided to go for it but before doing that I looked at a couple of salons where I could get it done. Of course I didn't want to get it at just any salon because bleaching is very damaging and if not done right will leave your hair looking very dry and damaged.

I decided to go to Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon because I got my hair rebonded there last time and I just had a blast. This time I went to their newest and main branch at Cedar Executive Bldg in Makati
Sadly I don't have any photos during the transformation since I was just too excited to get it done.

So here is a recount of my second experience in Creations

Before getting my hair bleached I went to Creations to get a consultation then a few weeks later I set up an appointment to get it done.

As soon as I got there that afternoon they immediately seated me and asked what shade of blonde I wanted and I said platinum blonde. So they proceeded prepare my hair for the bleaching process, they also told me on the things to expect while bleaching. The salon also gave me some magazines to read and a drink to enjoy. Then they proceeded to bleach my hair near the roots, they repeated the process of adding bleach and washing my hair about three times. Then on the fourth time they asked me if I wanted to get it done until the roots and I of course said yes. The staff had warned me that I would feel a burning sensation while getting my roots done and I just had to ask if it will cause any wounds (if anyone had experience with the old way of rebonding that took hours they would get this); and they said no since the bleach they use is different than the ones before. When they applied it to my roots, my scalp started to get warm then it started to burn but nothing I couldnt handle. They washed my hair for the last time and then Lourd Ramos applied the color to make my hair platinum blonde and I got to tell you that was the one that hurt a lot. I believe this is because my scalp had gotten sensitive from the bleaching process.

After the bleaching process I had a Brazilian blowout to keep my hair soft and at least lessen the damage the bleaching had done to my hair

I must say that despite the pain it was just another wonderful and fun experience in that salon. I felt truly pampered and taken care of by the staff and Lourd Ramos himself. They were funny and very encouraging, they distracted me from the pain and told me how nice it was starting to look.

So here are the before and after photos

Before (this was taken a week or so before the procedure)
After with the wonderful Lourd Ramos

I am definitely going back to Creations when I need to get my hair retouched which might be soon since I had my hair done last June 1, so this is a very late blog post LOL

Note: Lourd Ramos told me that my hair bleached easier since it was "virgin hair" meaning it had no previous treatments done to it. So if you are thinking of getting your hair bleached make sure to grow it out so the hair that will be treated is "virgin hair". You could get hot oil treatments or any treatment to make your hair softer/shinier but nothing like rebonding or perming before the bleaching process because it might cause breakage or just damage your hair too heavily

O.N.E Shea Butter Lip Balm review

Before starting the review, here is a little something about O.N.E Naturales. This was
taken from the official facebook page of O.N.E Naturales
ONE Naturales, a local line of beauty and personal care products will be available in selected SM Department Stores and Watsons nationwide. It is created by Charade Galang, a pharmacist and entrepreneur who thought of starting a line of products that would offer what she calls “natural luxury” at affordable prices.

When I got into make up, I started taking better care of my lips because no matter how pretty the lip color you are wearing if your lips are dry and chapped, it just won’t look good. So I started looking for cheap but good lip balm in the local market. I kept shifting from one brand to another because I never really got satisfied about how the lip balms felt on my lips. That is until
I found O.N.E Naturales Shea Butter Lip Balm.

From the official Facebook page:

Using coconut oils based waxes, bees wax, Linseed Seed Oil, Cacao Butter and Shea butter, our lip balm will surely provide the nourishment and protection it needs to reduce cases of overly dry lips that result to cracking up and dullness. With continued use, one gets the full benefits of healthier, supple looking lips. The formulator used very minimal stabilizers to prevent natural organic oils from oxidation and rancidity

The packaging

How the lip balm looks on my lips

I say
Pros:
  • Very moisturizing on the lips
  • Feels light weight
  • Gives a little shine
  • Smells and taste good (sweet actually, the green one smells and tastes like pandan. The Coconut one really does taste like sweet coconut and the honey one is self explanatory lol)
  • The little pot contains a lot of product
  • Can last 2-3 months depending on the usage
  • Has six available flavors
  • Has cute packaging
  • Ingredients listed on the back of the pot

Cons:
  • Only available in a pot (I have to bring another lip balm in a stick form when I am out and about)
  • The smell and taste might not be for everyone
  • People who are used to heavier lip balms might not like this although you can build this up on your lips to give you a so called “heavier feel”

Price: Php 199 for 0.36oz or 10grams

Where to buy?
At your local SM department stores and selected Watsons
This lip balm lasts a pretty long time on my lips before I have to re-apply, take note that I do put a lot of this on my lips because I am one of those people who like to feel that they have lip balm on. But even if you just put a small amount, it would still last longer than most lip balms.

Overall I just love this lip balm. You get a lot of product for an affordable price considering how much product you get and how well it works. I have gone through about four of these in the span of about 10 months and I am now on my 5th one thats about to be finished (can you tell just how much I love this). I just wish they had this available in a stick form because I don’t bring a potted lip balm around in my bag and apply it, its just unhygienic

How about you guys, what kind of lip balm do you use?

You can find O.N.E Naturales at the following sites:

P.S.: Sorry for the wonky alignment, I havent been here in a while. It'll be better next time :)
